Suzuki Access 125 Review 2026 – Comfortable City Scooter

    support@wheelxpress.comBy support@wheelxpress.comJuly 4, 2026Updated:July 4, 2026No Comments4 Mins Read

The Suzuki Access 125 has consistently punched above its weight in the Indian scooter market — it may lack the Honda Activa’s volume sales and the TVS NTorq’s youthful character, but the Access 125 builds genuine loyalty through outstanding ride quality, Suzuki’s refined engine character, and the most practical storage in the segment. The 2026 Access 125 continues with Suzuki’s SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) fuel injection, LED lighting, and CBS as standard. We review it after 7 months and 8,500 km of daily urban use.

    Key Specifications

    Specification Details
    Engine 124cc, Single-cylinder, Air-cooled, SEP FI
    Max Power 8.7 PS @ 6,750 rpm
    Max Torque 10 Nm @ 5,500 rpm
    Claimed Mileage 63.03 km/l
    Kerb Weight 104 kg
    Seat Height 770 mm
    Fuel Tank 5.6 litres
    Starting Price ₹82,300 (ex-showroom)

    Design & Styling

The Access 125 has a clean, mature design — the upswept headlamp, the well-proportioned body panels, and the distinctive chrome accents on the Special Edition give it a premium, understated look. It’s not as sharp as the NTorq or as familiar as the Activa — it has its own identity that appeals to practical buyers. The 5.6-litre fuel tank is the largest in its segment, contributing to the Access’s excellent highway range.

    Engine & Performance

Suzuki’s 124cc SEP FI engine is the smoothest 125cc scooter engine in India. 8.7 PS at 6,750 rpm — the highest power output in its segment — delivered with the characteristic Suzuki smoothness that makes the engine feel almost completely vibration-free at cruise speeds. The power delivery is linear and predictable. Top speed: approximately 90 km/h. The engine’s refinement is its defining characteristic — considerably quieter and smoother than the Activa 125 at highway speeds.

    Mileage & Fuel Economy

Over 8,500 km: city: 55–58 km/l; highway: 62–65 km/l; overall: 58 km/l. The claimed 63 km/l is achievable on steady highway riding. The 5.6-litre tank provides approximately 310–360 km per fill — the best range-per-fill in the 125cc scooter segment. Monthly fuel costs for a 40 km/day commuter: approximately ₹1,000–1,150.

    Ride Quality & Handling

The Access 125’s ride quality is its standout characteristic. The hydraulic front suspension and spring-loaded rear absorber are tuned for superior comfort — city pothole absorption is noticeably better than the Activa 125. At 104 kg with a low 770 mm seat height, it’s accessible and manageable for riders of all heights. Suzuki’s CBS implementation (combined braking via rear lever) is well-calibrated and provides confidence in emergency braking situations.

    Features & Technology

LED headlamp with LED DRL. Digital instrument console with trip computer, fuel efficiency indicator, and service reminder. USB type-C charging port (Special Edition). CBS standard. No Bluetooth connectivity — the Access 125 is intentionally technology-minimal, focusing on reliability and practicality over connected features.

    Comfort & Practicality

The Access 125’s under-seat storage accommodates a full-face helmet (with some models having 23L capacity). The split seat design makes pillion access easy. The 770 mm seat height with a low step ensures accessibility. The wide floorboard is practical for grocery trips and urban errands. The 5.6L tank eliminates the frequent refuelling stops that smaller-tank competitors require.

    Safety

CBS standard. LED headlamp. Disc brake on Special Edition. Suzuki’s drum brake quality is above average for the segment.

    Price & Variants

    • Standard: ₹82,300
    • Special Edition: ₹87,100

    Pros and Cons

    Pros Cons
Smoothest 125cc scooter engine in India No Bluetooth connectivity option
Largest 125cc tank (5.6L) — best range Suzuki dealer network smaller than Honda/TVS
Best ride quality in 125cc segment No sporty variant for younger buyers
8.7 PS — most powerful 125cc scooter Slightly heavier than Jupiter 125 (104 vs 103 kg)
Refined, mature design with chrome accents Limited colour options vs Activa

    Verdict

The Suzuki Access 125 is the connoisseur’s scooter — riders who have experienced it consistently prefer its ride quality and engine refinement over the Activa 125’s brand prestige. If you ride daily and value the tactile experience of a smooth, quiet engine and the best ride quality in the 125cc segment, the Access 125 is the right choice. For broader service network and better resale, the Activa 125 remains pragmatic. Rating: 8.6/10.
